Bus Stop Unveiling

Popular award-winning Ossie Mills really is on-the-map!

One of the area’s leading tourist attractions is now firmly on the map! Oswaldtwistle Mills shopping centre will now have its own bus stop carrying its name. The former Palladium bus stop on Union Road is being renamed as part of a campaign to get more shoppers to take the bus to the award-winning attraction, recently voted Lancashire’s most popular free tourist venue.
SpotOn’s Marketing Director, David Wilson, said, “Oswaldtwistle Mills is one of the most popular destinations in Lancashire and we’re recognising its popularity by naming the bus stop in its honour. The venue is well served by our SpotOn 1, 6 and 7 services. By travelling on our environmentally friendly modern buses shoppers are making very real contribution to the environment. And, to make it even more attractive to go by bus, if SpotOn passengers show their bus ticket at the Mills they’ll be given a selection of discount vouchers for outlets throughout the centre.
David Roberts, the Business Development Manager at Oswaldtwistle Mills said, “It’s quite fitting that the name is changing from Oswaldtwistle Palladium to Oswaldtwistle Mills. At one time people spent their leisure time flocking to the cinema. Now shopping is a major relaxation for so many. We’re delighted to be working with SpotOn and hope lots of people will see the advantages of coming to visit us by bus. “
David Wilson added, “ In addition to the range of value for money tickets SpotOn offers concessionary pass holders can enjoy free travel to the Mills and spend a relaxing time browsing around all the various outlets and having a tea/coffee in the café or bite to eat in the restaurant.”
